Reminder: Tomorrow is an early release day. We will release school at 12:20.
After inspection of the roads this morning, we are good to go for school today. We will see everyone at 10:00am. Be safe driving in and take your time.
Reminder: GCISD will have a 10:00am start time on Thursday. Buses will run 2 hours later than normal. Doors will open at 9:30. Breakfast will not be served. All Elementary students are to report directly to their classrooms.
All GCISD campuses will be closed on Wednesday, February 1st. School will resume at 10:00am on Thursday, February 2nd.
Due to hazardous road conditions, GCISD is canceling all classes for Tuesday, January 31st. High School basketball games against Irion County have been moved to Thursday, February 2nd. All four high school teams will play with the JV girls beginning at 4:00pm. The Junior High games scheduled for this week have been cancelled.
Basketball Schedule Update:
JH games for the week have been cancelled (due to Blackwell moving their varsity games to Thursday and we don’t have a day to play).
Varsity games are still scheduled for tomorrow in Mertzon.
We will keep everyone updated.
Due to icy road conditions, classes have been canceled for Monday, January 30th for GCISD.
GCISD will start school at 10:00am today. Buses will run on a 2 hr delay. Breakfast will not be served.
As we head further into winter, and we all know how Texas weather can be, we wanted to remind GCISD parents and students how we will handle inclement weather...
Please rest assured that we will be watching the weather closely. We will check district roads, especially the bus routes, regularly.
If the decision is made to either delay or close school, AN ALL-TEXT WILL BE SENT immediately. If you have a new number, or your number has changed recently, you can contact either campus secretary to have it updated.

HS basketball games update:
Games vs Irion County will be played Tuesday. JV games are cancelled, Varsity Girls game will begin at 5:00pm followed by Varsity Boys. No fan bus will travel.

The Garden City Varsity Tennis team competed at the 4A Big Spring Tournament yesterday morning. They all competed well, learned a lot, and got better thanks to some great competition🎾
