First graders were making real-world connections during their ELA lesson, tying a story about a contest to the current election! As they previewed the key provided for the story prior to reading, students discussed important details in the text and explored facts about the United States. Hearing Mrs. Braden lead such a thoughtful conversation about elections while guiding students to notice key details was amazing. We love seeing our young learners think deeply and connect classroom learning to the world around them.

These golfers braved the cold and wind to compete in Odessa Monday. They represented Garden City so well. The girls set fine beginning scores for their season as individuals, while the boys managed to accomplish 1st place Team total. It was a great start for GC golf!

What a ride! These Lady Kats took us all on an adventure for a few years, we are all super proud of these girls. It hurts today, because it was so good. To ALL who were involved, THANK YOU. Championship talent, championship heart!
