Regular Board Meeting- April 14, 2008

Glasscock County ISD Board of Trustees

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. with all board members present. Others present were Misty Kinnibrugh and Mary Jo Cope.

 

Misty Kinnibrugh gave presentation introducing a possible Optional Flexible School Year, which would allow the district to use 10 days of the school year as a remediation/tutoring time for students not passing TAKS, low grades or too many unexcused absences.

 

Carl Hoelscher made the motion to pay bills, seconded by Diane Havlak.  CU.

 

Carl Hoelscher made a motion approving for State Waiver to allow for Glasscock County ISD to have six early release days and three staff development days for school years 2008-2009 and 2009-2010, seconded by Tibby Niehues.  CU.

 

Doug Schaefer made the motion to approve West Texas Benefits Coop as 3rd part administrator for GC ISD, seconded by Kevin Hirt.  CU.

 

Kevin Hirt made the motion to approve educational trip for each school years 6th graders starting in 2008 and each year thereafter, seconded by Tibby Niehues.  CU.

 

Carl Hoelscher made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Diane Havlak.  CU.
