GC School News, April 22, 2009
This week:
· Today is report card day. Your child should bring home his or her fifth six weeks report card this afternoon.
· The famous First Grade Ball is Thursday at 1:30.
· The Sixth grade field trip parent meeting is tomorrow at 3:30.
· HS regional academic UIL qualifiers leave Friday afternoon for their competition on Saturday. Good luck!
· Our FFA Ag Mechanics Judging team competes on Friday in Huntsville.
Next week:
· Next week is TAKS week. We will have testing going on all week beginning Monday. Please make sure your student gets plenty of rest each night and a good breakfast each morning. Also, if you have any appointments scheduled for your child, please change them so that your child will be at school during this important assessment time. Thanks for your help in this matter.
· Kindergarten students take a field trip on Thursday to the Midland Fire Station, the Children’s Museum, and the park.
Kat Sports:
· Our golf teams competed well at the regional tournament. The entire girls team and Marcus Cook are going on to state. The girls placed second as a team, and Marcus placed fourth individually. The boys team placed fourth overall, two strokes out of qualifying for state. Congratulations to all the golfers!
· The tennis regional qualifiers are playing today and tomorrow in Abilene. Good luck to them all!
· The regional track meet will be next weekend, May 1 and 2, in Abilene. We are sending 5 girls and 3 boys.
· JH tennis has a meet here this Saturday, and their district meet is here on May 5 and 7.
