SUPERINTENDENT’S APRIL 12, 2010 BOARD REPORT

The Glasscock County ISD Board of Trustees met in regular session on April 12, 2010 at 7:00 pm.  The meeting was called to order by Andy Wheeler.  The Principal reports were presented by Mr. Hoskins and Randy Gartman:

·        Campus Recognition of student achievement

The superintendent’s report was presented by Steve Long as follows:

·        Update on May 8, 2010 Bond Election.  Early voting will begin on April 30, 2010 to May 4, 2010 at the Glasscock County Courthouse from 8:30 am-4:00 pm.  Election Day will be May 8, 2010 from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm at the Garden City Community Center.  Bond projects may be found on the GCISD website www.gckats.net.  Brochures will be printed and distributed as needed.  A public meeting will be held on April 27, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the school auditorium.

·        First discussion and look at Update 87 TASB Policy

 

Kevin Hirt made the motion to pay bills, seconded by Douglas Jost (CU).  A discussion on the excess funds in the appraisal district account was discussed.  Nancy Hillger will attend the May board meeting for further discussion.  Nathan Halfmann made the motion to forgive taxes on the property discussed, seconded by Carl Hoelscher (CU).  Nathan Halfmann made the motion to approve the oil lease, subject to changes in paragraph 10 as discussed, seconded by Douglas Schaefer (CU).  Tibby Niehues made the motion to approve the 2010-2011 school calendar as presented, seconded by Kevin Hirt (CU).  The board went into closed session at 8:09 pm – out at 8:15 pm, no action taken.  Carl Hoelscher made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Kevin Hirt (CU).  If you have questions on the upcoming bond election, please contact me or go to the school website for project information.
