School Health Plan 2009-2010
Approved: April 29, 2009
School Health Plan 2009-2010
The District and SHAC
recognize that good mental health, emotional stability, positive social interaction
skills, and a drug-free lifestyle are key factors in supporting student
performance, both academically and in co-curricular and extracurricular
activities. In order to maintain this
environment, the District shall provide both prevention and early intervention
approaches to address all levels of need.
Included shall be appropriate and accurate information, positive and
healthy activities, an identification and referral process, and support for
students and their families.
The District Wellness Policy,
the School Health Plan, and Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities
initiatives are necessary components of a healthy school district, and address
health instruction, health services, physical education, counseling, child
nutrition, and integrated school/community programs. Policies will align the BDF(Legal) and the
EHAA(Legal) TASB Board Policy Manual.
